Martin Ford is a prominent futurist, best-selling author, and leading expert on artificial intelligence and robotics and their potential impact on the job market, economy and society. His new book Rise of the Robots: Technology and the Threat of a Jobless Future warns that rapid advances in robotics and artificial intelligence are going fundamentally disrupt the world economy and your job just might be a lot more replaceable than you think. We talk about which jobs are most susceptible AI and Robotics and why it’s not going to be limited to just low-skilled manufacturing jobs. We discuss the ways it could fundamentally change our society and lead to mass uneployment, unrest, and a huge expansion of the government social safety net.
